setting
As a group, we decided to set our opening title sequence in an ordinary house. We decided to do this to show the audience that the characters are safe and there are people around, but really they are on their own (false sense of security). Also we needed to set it in an ordinary house to fit in with our storyline which is Holly babysitting at a women's (Leanne's) house. The opening title sequence occurs at night, this creates tension and the characters seem more vulnerable in the dark, e.g. not being able to see outside the house as the lights inside are reflecting off the window. Most horror films are also at night which is what the audience love and we want them to watch ours.

This is the house we have set our opening title sequence in. We chose to use this house because from the outside it looks daunting so the audience feel intimidated from the very start and will be aware that something bad is going to happen inside the house. Also the size of the house is extremely large which shows that there will be many places for the victim to run to try and get away. The killer is able to hide in many different places around the house which creates tension and suspense towards the audience.

It is based on a busy main road which creates a false sense of security because there will always be people around, but when the victim needs help there is no-one to be seen. This is not a typical setting as typical horror films which are based in houses are normally isolated, this shows the audience that there is no-one around to help the victim and they are alone.
