wes craven theory:
His theory is that...
- It is more effective and stereotypical to film in a safe place (e.g. school or hospital) to suggest that the person is safe but they actually are not. This will confuse the audience as they will not know who to trust. - In teen horror, it is best to have an absent parent to show that the teenagers have to act upon themselves (and this is not always right) and make their own decisions, this makes them very vulnerable. For example - he directed the film 'Scream'. This shows this as a teenager is alone in a house and so has to make all of the decisions in what she has to do. Also in Scream it shows sharp objects such as knives, which suggests she is not safe. BC & HF |
