The Panda Teddy - As Holly goes into Jensons room to see where he is, he is not there but when she pulls away the covers there is the Panda teddy. This is used as a link as when Britt is shown she is holding the Panda teddy too which shows he has a connection with her. This conveys a sense of fear as the audience know that something isn't quite right. The teddy is shown the majority of the time with Britt holding it, this shows that this is a possession which was with her when she was left to die.

Fridge - The fridge is used to create tensions as it shows Holly opening the door and Britt is stood behind it. She doesn't realise that she is there, but the audience does. This builds up the suspense as the audience know something bad is going to happen but Holly does not - she thinks everything is running smoothly. We chose this shot as it is commonly used to create a 'scare' for the audience (make them jump).

The Mirror - The mirror is used right at the end of our opening title sequence which shows Britt standing there. She then walks away from it but her reflection is still there. This indicates that even though she is walking away from that spot, she will forever be in that house. This shows that for the rest of the movie she will be apart of it and that she will never be forgotten for whoever passes through that house. This creates tension for the audience as they are always thinking what is she going to do next.

The Car - The car is used at the beginning of our OTS when Leanna drives away from the house. We focused on the wheel of the car to show that she is leaving and Holly is now left in control of the children and the house. This builds suspense for the audience as an older child now has the responsibility of looking after the children although she is incapable of looking after herself. (Children looking after children)
