What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
The production company is responsible for the development and production of any new media and the distribution company is responsible for the promotion and marketing of the film and delivering it to the public. The marketing stage of the film determines how successful the film will be so it is very important, the more amount of people who are attracted to watch the film the more amount of money the film will make.
When making our production company we had a variety of ideas on what it should be called and what it would look like. We had to make it from scratch and this enabled us to use our creative ideas and skills to make our final product. We first researched other distribution companies to give us ideas to inspire us to make our own, such as 'Universal Studios' and 'Paramount'. 'Universal studios' is an American film studio and distributed the horror film Insidious (2010) which inspired us to use the sub genre, paranormal. 'Universal Studios' and 'FilmDistrict' inspired us to include the Earth in our distribution company to show that our film is global and is available to a wider range of audience around the world. The colours in our distribution company include blue, green and white and the background is black, these colours do not relate to the horror genre so it doesn't give away the genre of our opening title sequence. Here is our own distribution company 'Galaxy Films':

We researched many distribution companies to help us create our own, an example of one is 'FilmDistrict' which was used for Insidious and was founded in 2010:
Our production company is called 'Horror House' which includes the colours blue and black which relates to the paranormal genre that we used, this then gives away our genre to the audience. We used a haunted house in our production company which also relates to the setting of our opening title sequence, which is located in a haunted house.
People will want to distribute our opening title sequence because it has a mass market and will bring in a profit. Our age rating is a 15 so will attract a wider range of audience and will bring in a profit in the future.
